​February, 2020 - When Virginia Association of Surveyors bestowed an Honorary Membership to Dr. Gladys West, Dave was honored to be invited to meet Dr. West at the presentation.  Everyone knows of Dave's love of the science and the history of surveying and geodesy, and his own contributions to the community.  With everything he has experienced, Dave considers this, "one of the most memorable events in my career." - see story here!

 

 

November, 2018, Washington, DC - Dave assisted in planning of a competition, hosted by the National Society of Professional Surveyors, between teams of U.S. Surveyors and surveyors from China, which included field exercises using a variety of techniques, from leveling to GPS, and a written test of basic knowledge. Participants enjoyed showing off their skills and expertise, and meeting with colleagues from the other side of the globe. Learn more about the competition here.
